Welcome to HIMSS South Florida Chapter

South Florida Chapter of Health Information Management Systems Society (SFLHIMSS) proudly serves the Health IT Professionals of the local South Florida area. Our chapter is continuously growing and has reached over 2,100 members including Healthcare Providers, Health IT Vendors, Innovators, Educators, and Students. Our membership includes all levels of skills and experience from seasoned professionals to those considering healthcare IT as a career and includes C-Suite Professionals, Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers, Analysts, Professors and Students.  The State of Florida is unique and South Florida has a diverse culture.  We as Healthcare Professionals in South Florida are fortunate to have so many ways to collaborate with other healthcare-focused organizations to bring you relevant information to help you stay current and be innovative in your profession. We are committed to providing a forum for thought leadership, guiding policy at the state and national level, and providing networking to help our organizations better serve the community and our members advance in their careers.  We are here to help guide you in a direction for continuous improvements, educate, innovate and stay at the forefront of healthcare IT.

Our chapter strives to provide valued educational and informative events to help you to stay up-to-date and knowledgeable.  Our primary focus is engaging the Health Technology Community on topics such as interoperability, telehealth, cybersecurity, patient engagement, consumerism, EMR implementation best practices, digital transformation, data & analytics, innovation, and much more. Our members at HIMSS South Florida greatly benefit from these engagements.

Some exciting SFLHIMSS Programs to look forward to are:

• 13th Annual Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament (May 9th, 2025)
• The 7^th Annual Innovation Award is a local competition among providers recognizing innovation in our backyard.
• SFLHIMSS Annual Conference - “IntegraTe” - where approximately 300 Health IT professionals congregate to share ideas, educate our members, and network. Our next IntegraTe will be in Fall 2025 at the NSU Broward Center of Innovation in Davie, Florida. This will be a day of education, networking, and FUN that you will NOT want to miss!
• Annual Scholarship – We provide scholarships to local South Florida students pursuing a career in healthcare IT.
• Student Program – an educational event hosted by local educational institutions for students and health IT professionals.
• Annual Health IT Day to advocate for Health IT in Tallahassee at our State Capitol (April 1st-2nd, 2025)
• Holiday Networking event to meet your local peers and Board Members
• Monthly Webinars offering different Health IT-related topics
